Greetings!
turkey lurkey
Thanksgiving already! Once again we take a couple of days off, cook a feast and give thanks for the good things in our lives. Whatever prosperity and good fortune we find in our lives, most of us will give thanks for the people around us. In our work we ought to do the same. The right people can make a company flourish. The right people will not go obsolete like old hardware, the right people will adapt and grow. The right people will innovate your company into the future.
That future will look very different from the past. Where we once had copper wire to the telephone company we now have a variety of ways to access the Internet, MySpace.com, FaceBook, Google, Vonage and Skype. The telephone business has always been about people talking, people with something to say to one another; now there are many ways to say it without that rigid network infrastructure. Everything today is loosely coupled. The generation entering the workforce is more likely to send a text, leave a comment on a social networking site, instant message, email, blog, or make a cell call than they are to pick up a wired phone and dial.
So how do you find the right people? Start by looking around your office. The telecom industry has one advantage on its side as the market gets crowded. We know how to operate networks. The future lies with workers who search for answers, who will do whatever it takes to get the information they need to do their job. If you let them grow, encourage their inquisitiveness and desire to learn, your company will stand out in the marketplace. The right people will see opportunities and encourage growth. Then you'll know you have the right people and have as many reasons to offer thanks in years to come.

Sincerely,

Walt Mansell
