Greetings!
janus5
The month of January owes its name to the Roman deity Janus, god of doors and gates, of beginnings and endings. Popular depictions usually show Janus with one face looking toward the future and one, on the back of his head, looking at the past. Imagine if we could, in like fashion, see into the future with one set of eyes and into the past with another! We would see behind us a telecommunications industry driven by machines, by hardware and wires, and ahead of us a world driven by people and software.

In the shift to IP Networks, the telecommunications industry begins to rely on a collection of very basic and versatile pieces of hardware. What separates one from another is the software which defines its function. Routers can process a phone conversation, similar to a telephone switch. Routers can also process an Instant Message conversation, the snapshots from my last vacation, the weather report and almost all of my holiday shopping. Dealing with generic and highly flexible pieces of hardware enables us to deliver more services and to evolve with the market. Techs and engineers need a deeper understanding of technological concepts and more that just the functional details of a certain box. New techs must have the ability to expand their education on the fundamental concepts that govern the technology. They must have that ability in their toolbox like a wrench or a screwdriver. In the new network, ready access to an up-to-date and appropriate knowledge environment is an essential tool in for techs to keep up with processes and procedures that are constantly changing.

Have any New Year's resolutions? How about making a commitment to provide the most advanced online learning environment available for your company?  We're not just talking about courses, but a new way of doing things for a lot less than you think.  Give us a call; We'll give you a competitive edge.

Sincerely,

Walt Mansell
